Portraits.
This project comes from improvisation and spontaneity, which is what characterizes my way of working. Although my artworks start from an idea, it’s all about improvising, that’s were great things happen. Knowing that improvising is as important as an idea takes pressures off and allows me to experiment freely. I always start trying with abstract shapes, with lights and shadows, sometimes with 2D and 3D elements, different colors... until I reach something I like. Once I reach the expected result, I start to shape the idea and the piece. In this case, talking specifically about the "portraits" project, all those trials led me in one way or another to make portraits.
I always liked to illustrate human faces in a distorted way, far from reality and that is what I try to show in "portraits" series.
